Perry's Gris-Gris
by Sandra Locke

Two hearts joined as one new love,
Guarded by an angel from above,
Adorn this Gris-Gris made for you,
With loving hands by 'you know who'.
To bless the beginning of your new life
To ward off jealousy, pride and strife.

A golden heart for enduring love
A loving verse from God above,
A lock of hair from both of us
As symbols of true love, friendship and trust.
A drop of water, a crust of bread,
A grain of salt, a rose, some thread,
A picture of Daddy, a poem from Neet,
Without them it would be incomplete.
Pictures of the rest of your family too
Reminders that we all love you.

All these things were kissed and blessed,
Then sealed inside with all the rest,
This good luck charm for the bride and groom,
To hang up in a special room.
A reminder of this special prayer
We said for you, the hopes we share.

May you never know poverty, hunger or thirst,
May you always remember through better and worst,
Your love brought you here and will carry you through
To the end and forever, God Bless You.

All our love,
Sandy and Jerry

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
I John 4:12
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
I John 4:16
